一開始我看到這個命題的時候也覺得怪怪的

既然網站都做 RWD 了

就不會有大小網重複網頁的問題

為什麼還需要 canonical tag 呢?





我們先來說明幾個專有名詞

什麼是 RWD?


RWD 是指響應式網站設計

因為行動載具的關係

使得網站需要適應不同的載具螢幕寬度

網頁需要更有彈性的設計

所以就出現了 RWD 這個設計的方式及原則

RWD 的好處是

當一個頁面有手機用戶跟桌機用戶的時候

我只要設計一個頁面

用一個相同的網址 給不同的載具讀取就行

不需要分各種版本

於是 對Google爬蟲收錄的時候

就不會有重複頁面的問題

 

什麼是大小網?


在還沒有 RWD  的時候

就有人針對行動裝置跟桌機做不同的網站設計

但當時還沒有 RWD 的概念

所以行動裝置跟桌機的網站其實是分開的

所以行動裝置有行動裝置的網站

桌機有桌機的網站

當你進入一個網站的時候 (通常是桌機版)

程式系統偵測到你是桌機 會繼續讓你瀏覽

如果是手機 就會把你導到手機版的網站

 

所以我們有時候會發現

有些人在 fb 上面留的是手機版的連結 (因為當下他是用手機瀏覽的)

我們用桌機去點擊連結

看到的會是手機版的畫面

 

對Google的爬蟲來說

這兩夜雖然排版稍微不同 但內容文字大致上是相同的

卻有不同的網址

Google 會認為這兩頁是重複內容 互相抄襲

所以 SEO 權重會下降

用 canonical tag 標示 "我是主要頁面"

另一頁標示 "我是次要頁面"

這樣 Google 爬蟲就知道收錄主要頁面就好

 

RWD 頁面也會需要 canonical tag?


其實 canonical tag 的用法不只用在大小網

所以就算你的網站已經是 RWD

仍然有機會使用到 canonical tag

就跟你不是胖子 不代表你不會有心臟病高血壓的問題

(好吧我承認這個比喻不太好)

以下介紹幾個 canonical tag 的使用時間

同產品不同規格


有些產品會有不同的顏色/尺寸

每個顏色都有獨立的頁面

例如賣 iphone 的商家 把三種顏色的 iphone 分別上架

那前台頁面就會有三個 iphone 的頁面

因為這三隻 iphone 只有顏色不同

商品敘述完全一樣

就會有重複頁面的問題

這時候 一樣的 可以用 canonical tag 把主產品/次產品標示出來

讓 Google 只收錄主產品

就可以解決重複頁面的問題

當然有些網站設計成把不同規格的相同產品都放在同一頁

就不會有這個問題

但網頁設計人員應該理解這個問題的根本原理

才不會網站做好了 找SEO公司的時候才發現需要改結構

 

多語系網站


多語系網站也有重複頁面的問題

雖然相同的內容 以不同的語言表示

但在實務上仍屬於重複頁面

也需要使用 canonical tag 標示哪個是主要頁面 哪個是次要頁面

甚至需要使用 hreflang tag 標示該頁面的語系

以便讓 Google 分別收錄不同的語系

當不同語系的使用者進行搜尋的時候

可以讓 Google 提供該網站適合使用者語系的內容 讓使用者閱讀

以達到更好的使用者體驗

 

長文章分頁


很多網路媒體類的網站

喜歡把一篇文章拆成多頁

增加點閱次數 及廣告的曝光次數

如果 Title/H1 幾乎都一樣 (因為都是文章標題)

就會產生重複頁面的問題

所以也需要用 canonical tag 把第一頁設定成主頁面

其他頁面設定為次頁面
